Kerry Progress - Part 2

With the outbuildings stripped back to bare wall, the work to create the new shower block and accomodation could begin.

Works started in the old cowshed the new partitions and installing the woodfibre insulation, ready for the lime plaster.

This will act similarly to the floor slab and allow the building to breathe

All the buildings are receiving new double glazed units to help keep heating costs down and ensure the buildings are comfortable to live in.

The units are specially made to resemble the original windows, with individual double glazed panes being fitted in each square.

The original stables has now become a fully enclosed building with the construction of the new timber clad wall.

Work continues inside to install the WC and shower facilities, DDA approved access and supports.

Outside, work continues connecting the buildings together with wheelchair friendly paths and the laying of DDA approved grids to allow easy travel across the chippings.

Once work is finished, the whole area will be on the same level to aid movement between the accomodation and farmhouse.

The polytunnel has now been erected, and work has already begun inside, creating the beds and laying more pathways as done by the accomodation.

The hope is that this will supply the farm with the majority of its vegetables, and the possibility of selling produce at the local markets.
